How easy are your patio cover kits to install?
Our Patio Covers are VERY easy to install. Many of our customers tell us that it takes less than a few hours.
Do I need special tools to install it?
No. A few common tools, such as a screw driver, drill, hacksaw, adjustable wrench, hammer, and pliers are all you need.
Do I need a permit?
Depending upon where you live and what your area's code requirements, you may need a building permit. Patio Covers provides all engineering drawings to accommodate the permit process (see "Downloadable drawings in our how to page").
What if I have a question during the installation?
Just call us. One of our service representatives can answer any installation questions you might have.
What about the cost of shipping?
With Patio Covers.NET, insured shipping is FREE! We ship to your build site!! No special equipment is needed to offload the shipment. All items are boxed and can be carried by one person.
Do I need a concrete slab to anchor the patio cover?
No, not necessarily. With any addition to your home, you must make sure that the base is firmly supported. Some customers have told us that they have put patio covers over their wood decks or over grass. Although this is possible, the preferred installation is to a concrete slab. Just remember that whichever installation method you choose, posts must be firmly anchored in the ground with concrete – similar to installing a fence post.
Is there a warranty on the patio cover?
Yes. There is a warranty on the finish and craftsmanship of the patio cover. The warranty covers peeling, flaking and cracking of the finish.
Do I need to paint the patio cover?
No. That's the beauty of a patio cover from Patio Covers.NET. There is no maintenance. That's because it's made from aluminum with a baked enamel finish. It's tough and beautiful and requires no maintenance – that includes re-painting. Simply clean with soap and water!!
If I wanted to paint the patio cover to match my home's color, can I paint it?
Yes. The patio cover can be painted. Consult with your local paint store for the best paint to use.
